Quotes for the day:
Here are some pretty good quotes for reflection/cultivation, hope to share with you, is from a book about buddha's teaching.
---------------------------------------
" People moved by their selfish desires, people seek
after fame and glory. But when they have acquired it,
they are already strikened in years. If you hanker
after wordly fame and practice not they way, your
labours are wrongfully applied and your energy
is wasted. It is like unto burning an incense stick".
-------------------------------------
Pretty true huh??
--------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Those who have passions are never able to perceive the
way;
A mind troubled and vexed with passion is
impure, for it is like stirring up clear water with hands;
people may come there wishing to find a reflection of
their faces, which, however, they will never see.
O monks, do away with passions. When the dirt
of passion is removed, the way will manifest itself."

Reflection:
Only through reflection that we will see ourselves truly and deeply.
A lot of times, we're afraid of others to see or look through our mind. Because there's some dark spots that we do not want others to see, the ugly side that we normally would like to hide. But the more we hide, the more we want to hide it. Therefore, opening our heart is the first step to take to understand ourselves, a way to allow light and wisdom to shine and arise in our heart. When there's light and wisdom, the dark spots will no longer be dark. You'll never fall into darkness.
Cultivation always comes handy, where we swim upstream, against all faults and enhance the good. The more goodness we do, the light will shine through our hearts, wisdom will grow.
A lot of times, our world is formed by our vision, hearing, senses and our own interpretation, is very dangerous if we don't see things clearly and wrongfully interprete what we see. Something to ponder...when we see things on the ground..on earth...we only see a very small spectrum of it. However, if we're flying in the airplane, the world will become bigger...the things we see on earth is so little. So, instead of only relying on our senses through seeing, hearing and senses to see our world, May be is time or a good idea to start seeing our world truly with our heart or mind...then will see things with no obstacles.....we can even see the 3 thousand worlds....beyond our naked eyes.
With Metta (Sankrit word for loving kindness) always,
mei chin.
